Chess Club
Sponsor: Mr. Wood
Description: An opportunity for students with an interest in chess, any skill level. You don't even need to know how to play.
Requirements: Must have an interest in any level, beginner to expert, of chess.

Model UN Club
Sponsor: Ms. Cheatham
Description: The HBMS Model United Nations Club provides students with the opportunities to develop leadership, public speaking, research, and critical thinking skills through simulations of the United Nations. Students represent counties, investigate global issues, participate in debates, and collaborate to propose solutions to real-world challenges while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and global citizenship.
Requirements: 1. Strong pubic speaking skills. 2. Interest in global issues and current events. 3. Leadership and teamwork skills. 4. Responsibility and commitment. 5. Positive behavior and academic standing

Drama - Theatre

Description: This club is focused on the theatrical arts. It gives students students a creative spaced to explore acting and stage production. We will do two plays a year plus the school

Color Guard - Winter Guard
Sponsor: Mr. Bryant
Description: Color guard and winter guard are competitive performance arts combining dance, theater, and athletic spinning of equipment like flags, mock rifles, and sabers. Color guard performs outdoors alongside a marching band during the fall. Winter guard performs indoors on a gym floor to recorded music during the spring.

Iron Sharpens Iron
Sponsor: Mr. Bryant and Mr. Patrick
Description: This club is a male mentoring group. We provide social and emotional support and guidance, teach and re-enforce positive behaviors, promote respect, accountability, and responsibility, set positive goals, do community service, and much more.
Requirements: Must be a male student

Yearbook
Sponsor: Mr. Hoff
Description: HBMS Yearbook Club will provide our students with opportunities to capture, organize, edit, and publish the annual schoolwide yearbook! Teams of students from all grade levels are invited to apply for our yearbook club. Connection has also been established with the yearbook team at Centennial High School in hopes of future collaborative projects, rising Freshman yearbook opportunities, and potential field trips.
Requirements: To join, students require a signed permission form on file with Ms. Hoff or Ms. Dowell plus a copy of the student photo release form. Scholars with extra organizational talents are invited to compose an application essay to apply for Photo Editor and Editor in Chief (7th and 8th students only).
